It’s rare that you see a quality game come to Steam Greenlight, but this one grabbed my attention right away for its high quality graphics and animations.
Developers Rocket Punch have released a few gameplay trailers for their new stylized Mech Platform action game, Code: Hardcore. The animation and presentation for their new game is absolutely amazing with the amount of time and detail they have put into this game.
The trailer says that there will be a variety of levels that are designed to give you an amazing cinematic experience to really immerse you into the world of Code: Hardcore. Additionally, they also show about four unique Mech types for you to pilot and combat that looks absolutely amazing. Before getting more into the gameplay mechanics, just take a look at the amazing trailer that I linked down below so you can see the actual game for yourself.

Air battles, bus chase scenes, epic space battles, hardcore melee fights and gun shootouts. When you launch a Steam Greenlight campaign, this is how it should be done. I was a huge fan of the Super Robot Taisen and Super Robot Wars series, Gunstar Heroes was also one of my all time favorite platform shooter games growing up.
Seeing the two titles combined into a single game with Metal Slug style cinematic stages sounds like an amazing mix of gameplay elements. The developers right now need funding for their game and are looking for fans to help support them, so they have launched a Kickstarter Campaign to help them with the financial end. The below video shows the producer of Rocket Punch games as he talks about the project and why you should support their Kickstarter. Check out the video that I linked below.

In the above video, when the director talks about Super Robot Wars and how the action is purely cinematic and how it becomes disappointing when you can’t actually perform those cool moves yourselves, that was my exact feeling when I used to play those games when I was younger. Code: Hardcore puts the player in control of the Mech, giving you the best of both worlds in a single game. I have to say that I am really excited to see more of this game an see it come together into a finished product.
4 Player Local play and Multiplayer is listed on the Steam Greenlight page, and the Kickstarter confirms that it will have multiplayer modes when the game is complete so that you can play with your family and friends. On top of this, Code: Hardcore will also have Mech Assault elements, so you will be able to eject from your Mech and play as the pilot to run around and repair your Mech on foot. How cool is that!?
So if you are interested in seeing this game come to life, head on over to their Kickstarter Page and check out the above mentioned Steam Greenlight page to cast your vote and support the game. Last but not least, check out the official Rocket Punch website for additional details and information about the game. Code: Hardcore is scheduled for a late 2017 release date.
