Cemu Team released Cemu 1.7.2b for their Patreon backers and there have been some major improvements for some games, such as Fast Racing Neo being playable, and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker stabilizing at 30 rock solid fps, as opposed to the drops it occurred previously.
One of the more noticeable upgrades involved Bayonetta 2, which no longer has as many graphical artifacts in the background disrupting the visual output of the game.
The original Bayonetta is also almost fully playable from start to finish. The game’s graphical artifacts, glitches, and frame-stutter have been fixed. YouTuber reznoire put together a fantastic preview video compilation of the various Wii U titles running in version 1.7.1 and 1.7.2b, the latter of which shows drastically improved performance. Check it out below.
For those of you willing to plop down $5 into Team Cemu’s coffers, it will grant you early access to the latest builds of the Cemu Wii U emulator. If you want, you can pledge funds right now by visiting the Cemu Patreon page.
While not every game is fixed and improved as far as compatibility is concerned, some games have shown massive improvements over the last build. For instance, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze actually went from a sloppy mess to a stable 60 frames per second. It looks good.
YouTube user YamGaming put together an 11 minute video clip showcasing the latest Cemu build running Star Fox for the Wii U. You can check out the video below.
It took the team about two weeks to work on and release 1.7.2b after they made 1.7.1 available to the public.
Before February is out we’ll get to see exactly what new changes they’ve made in the changelog. A lot of people are just happy that both Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are very much playable in the newest version of the emulator.
You’ll have to wait a week after the Patreon release of Cemu 1.7.2b before the public release will be made available over on the Cemu website.
