Brawlout Is A Smash Bros-Style Game Set To Release On Xbox One, PS4, PC

This weekend Brawlout, the multiplayer fighting game for up to eight players, will be at this year’s EVO tournament series at Las Vegas, Nevada a the Convention Center this upcoming Friday. The game will be on display to help promote it for its first-quarter release on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2017 next year.

The developers, Angry Mob Games, recently announced the title and their plans to make the trip to Las Vegas as a way to drum up interest and hype for the upcoming fighting game.

Bogdan Iliesiu, CEO at Angry Mob Games, commented in the press release about the new fighter, stating…

“We’re all fighting game fans, so we’ve built our dream platform fighter” […] “We’ve heard what players miss from classic fighters and what they love about new ones, and Brawlout is designed to give people the best of both worlds, whether that’s ruining friendships around the TV or going online to anger strangers in tournaments.”

The game could best be described as an indie rendition of Super Smash Bros. The fights take place on multiple 2D platforms, where players will battle it out and attempt to blast their opponent off the platform. You can see what the gameplay and combo system is like with the trailer below.

The frog with the four arms and the long tongue? Yeah, he looks like he could kick butt. Each of the characters have their own unique style and flavor, and it’ll be up to players to find which animal best suits their play style.

The game will also feature both local multiplayer and online multiplayer modes for up to eight players.

Some of the unique features for Brawlout includes freezing opponents, utilizing grapple attacks to throw or knock opponents off balance, as well as making use of a Rage meter or customizing the attacks and specials of the anthropomorphic combatants to fit your needs.

In addition to all of that, the game will also have a single-player story mode to play through, which should prove entertaining.

The developers were clearly inspired by Super Smash Bros., but they also mention that there are elements of Mortal Kombat and Loony Toons sprinkled throughout the gameplay as well.

You can expect to see and hear more about Brawlout from Angry Mob Games when it makes its playable debut at this year’s EVO in Las Vegas, Nevada. The game itself won’t be out until the first quarter of 2017 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. For more info be sure to visit the game’s official website.
