Square Enix updated its Japanese website and has revealed a list of new Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time screenshots and gameplay elements that will most certainly help out during dire times. Dragon Quest XI is set to release in Japan on July 29th for PS4 and Nintendo 3DS.
The latest screenshots showing Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time can be seen below, which come in thanks to Square Enix updating the Dragon Quest XI Japanese official website.
For starters, “Zone” is one of the new abilities or powers to appear in Dragon Quest XI’s battle. Zone is a state of increased concentration that, for a limited time, grants increased combat ability. Upon facing damage by an enemy, the character can enter a Zone state allowing them to turn a tough situation into a prime comeback.
The act of entering a state of Zone means that a character is surrounded by a blue light, in which the effect can carry over to another battle until it wears off.
In addition to increasing power and the Zone ability, players can combine party member powers by using a skill called Link. This ability can increase the prospect of annihilating formidable enemies quickly.
We also learn that the character Silvia can light up the main character’s sword with fire, imbuing it with more power. Link techniques will differ depending on the combination of party members, learned spells and skills, and the number of people that are in a Zone state. According to the official website, depending on how the party is organized will directly affect which Link technique will be unleashed.
Lastly, Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time will launch for PS4 and the 3DS on July 29th in Japan, which currently has no Western release date. It is also rumored that a Nintendo Switch version is planned, but it has no date or solid info as of this moment.
