Voodoo Vince Remastered Set To Arrive On Xbox One, Windows 10 In 2017

Beeb Games founder and creative director, Clayton Kauzlaric, made a post recently on the Xbox News Wire announcing that he and small group of developers at the studio have been working on an HD remaster of the OG Xbox classic Voodoo Vince.

Kauzlaric will be using the ID@Xbox program to re-release Voodoo Vince HD onto the Xbox One. He’s also going the lo-fi route for getting the game onto Steam for PC as well, launching a Steam Greenlight page to help gather votes for the project in order to land on the Steam store for its projected early 2017 launch.

A trailer for the upcoming HD remaster for the 13 year old game was posted up and you can check it out below.

The game now sports 60fps gameplay, along with support for higher resolutions than when it first launched, including running at 1080p on the Xbox One (a rare feat, I know).

New to the game is haptic feedback from the Steam Controller and rumble effects, which didn’t quite make the cut back in the day.

The comment section on the Steam Greenlight page is filled with a lot of nostalgic gamers talking about how they loved playing Voodoo Vince when they were a kid and how they’re looking forward to introducing their own kids to the game. Yes, it’s really been that long.

As mentioned on the Xbox News Wire, Kauzlaric explains how it all came together after receiving a lot of fan feedback, mail and fan art from people who really enjoyed Voodoo Vince on the original big black box, writing…

“A couple years ago I started thinking about updating and re-launching Voodoo Vince myself. My colleagues at Microsoft were really supportive of the idea. We all agreed that the ID@Xbox program is the perfect venue for the game. A small team and I have been quietly working on Voodoo Vince: Remastered for a few months now, and I’m announcing today that it’ll be out for Xbox One and Windows 10 in early 2017.”

I wasn’t really that big a fan of Voodoo Vince. I saw it as a poor man’s Croc. Besides, I was more of a Blinx kind of guy.

Anyway, if you’re gaming on the Xbox One you can look for the game to launch in early 2017 along with the Windows 10 version. The game won’t be available on the Xbox 360 because the code from the OG Xbox was a mess and they couldn’t port it over, but at least you can still play it on the Xbox One, right? The Steam version will likely arrive around the same time assuming it can get voted through Greenlight in a timely manner.

If you would like to contribute to the game appearing on Steam, feel free to upvote and favorite Voodoo Vince over on Steam Greenlight.
