If you’re having problems in Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter trying to open the secret dash room, and trying to get to 800 consecutive dashes in a row, there are two ways to open it. You can either dash the traditional way or use the cheating back and forth blur method on PC.
There’s been some talk that you can’t get the high score in the room where you need to dash 800 times to get the door open. Although it may seem impossible to do, and will wear you down if you have flabby hands, you will be able to dash your way to the secret room with two methods.
The first method is to start the dash run in a sequence either going clockwise or counter-clockwise. Do this until the counter reaches 800. In addition, make sure that you press the space button immediately after you reach your destination to keep the chain up. As for the other method, which takes less skill, you will need to use the mouse and keyboard and not a controller.
Keep the mouse courser placed in the middle so that you can keep pressing space in a timely manner, which will allow you to keep dashing back and forth. After keeping the chain dash up you will be able to rack up those numbers faster than doing the ring of dashes around the room.
Once done, the door on the right will open with a skeleton in the corner. It should reward you with a purple variant of the Cloak, Sprite Companion, and Beam Sword. The first video by KingScorcher shows some mistakes in the process of doing it the real way and eventually opens the door, while the second video shows the cheating method by Zen Advent.
