Arcadian Atlas Will Feature BioShock Cameos If Kickstarter Succeeds

A promising new RPG from a brother and sister duo called Arcadian Atlas hasn’t quite reached its final goal despite having less than eight hours to go before the crowd-funding drive on Kickstarter wraps up.

The developers recently sent out a final reminder that their game was wrapping up its funding drive on the crowd-sourced site and that they’re still a few thousand away from hitting their goal, resting at $79,211 out of $90,000 as of the writing of this article.

However, to help spur interest in the game, they have managed to get the blessings of BioShock’s own Ken Levine, who said he would be “thrilled” to contribute Booker and Elizabeth from BioShock: Infinite if their Kickstarter can make it across the finish line.

Given the multi-verse setting of BioShock: Infinite, it’s not too far fetched to think that maybe Liz and Booker could make an appearance in the game and that it would make sense from a story perspective.

To give gamers just a small taste of what they have in mind, a short gif was released featuring the cameo of Booker DeWitt making his entrance in Arcadian Atlas. You can check it out below.

As for Arcadian Atlas… the game is a throwback to titles like Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics, giving gamers a turn-based, multi-level battlefield in which to engage the enemy with various classes, weapons and skills.

You can see what the brother and sister duo have in store for the title with the Kickstarter pitch video below.

The /r/Games/ sees some gamers showing interest but others are skeptical due to the tawdry outcomes of some crowd-funding projects that have managed to taint the well and ruin the concept altogether. Kickstarter’s name has been sullied by the likes of those who put the dollar signs before a quality product, and now well-intentioned developers will have to foot the apprehension bill from a skeptical community.

Nevertheless, if you feel as if Arcadian Atlas is the kind of throwback, 16-bit nostalgia trip that you’ve been pining for within the deep anti-AAA recesses of your mind, and if you feel as if the game might be able to deliver on some of the classic concepts forgone by major studios and ignored by the money hats who can’t see past focus group testing and shareholder confidence, then feel free to lend a dime or a dollar to the Arcadian Atlas Kickstarter project over on the official website.
