King Of Fighters XIV Demo Will Be Playable At CEO 2016

Ahead of its launch on August 23rd later in the year, King of Fighters XIV will be making a few stops along the way, namely at the Community Effort Orlando in Orlando, Florida.

According to Shoryuken, SNK will be making a pit-stop off in Orlando, Florida to give FGC members attending CES 2016 an opportunity to play-test a demo of the game just before the launch in August. CES 2016 (not to be confused with the Consumer Electronics Show that usually takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada each year) will take place between June 24th and June 26th. Last year the event played host to some pretty memorable match-ups with various top tier players from within the fighting game community battling it out for the championship.

SNK will also hit up Combo Breaker following up on their attendance at PAX East. Additionally, they had the game at the KSB 2016 event and I wouldn’t be surprised if SNK has the game make some kind of appearance at this year’s EVO.

It’s nice to see that a lot of the character combos and special moves have largely stay intact from their 2D incarnations in their transition into 3D.

There still seems to be a small spark missing that really made it feel like King of Fighters. Maybe in the next entry (assuming this one sells well enough) they can hire in a lighting artist to really help give the game its own visual identity.

As far as the content is concerned, sporting 50 characters, a team mode, a single mode, online modes, a challenge mode and a training mode for newbies will likely keep players busy for quite some time, much more so than Street Fighter V, anyway.

You can look for King of Fighters XIV to launch exclusively for the PS4 starting August 23rd.
