Nintendo already made it known that you won’t be seeing anything about the Nintendo NX at this year’s E3. Instead they’ll be focusing entirely on the Wii U’s last big outing, The Legend of Zelda. Not only will they be focusing on the title but they’ll allow those in attendance to play it at this year’s event.
One lucky fan will also be plucked out from the unwashed masses and given an opportunity to attend Nintendo’s E3 event in person. The sweepstakes was announced via press release, where it was stated…
“Between now and May 10, Nintendo is offering a sweepstakes on Twitter for a chance to win a trip for two to E3 to play the game. Anyone who tweets @NintendoAmerica a note about what The Legend of Zelda series means to them while using the hashtags #MyZeldaLegend and #NintendoSweepstakes will be entered for a chance to win. Fans can share messages about their favorite games, characters or memories of the franchise.”
Fans simply need to share the messages and hope that Nintendo selects them. According to the press release, Nintendo will select a winner at random.
For the person selected, they’ll receive airfare tickets for two, a hotel stay, tickets to E3 and a $500 prepaid VISA debit card for expenses likely to be incurred during the week of E3.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the sweepstakes, feel free to check out Nintendo’s official website.
As for The Legend of Zelda, the game will be presented first by Nintendo of America’s president Reggie Fils-Aime starting at 9am PST on Tuesday, June 14th. Things will proceed from there with demos, live-stream sessions and interviews with Eiji Aonuma and the rest of the developers as they talk about The Legend of Zelda, its story, gameplay mechanics and what they’re doing new with the series.
Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive VP of sales and marketing commented in the press release about the game appearing at E3, stating…
“At E3 this year, we’re treating people to an immersive Zelda experience,” […] “By giving attendees extended hands-on time with this remarkable game, they’ll be able to get a much deeper understanding of something new for the franchise.”
The game is due to drop on the Wii U and Nintendo NX next year. The Nintendo NX is due for release in March of 2017. Nintendo has no plans to showcase any other game at E3 other than The Legend of Zelda. They won’t even pimp Pokemon Sun & Moon. This is either going to be a really smart move or a really dumb move from the Big ‘N’.
