Alright, lets go over how to get your light level higher when and after patch 2.4.1 drops. You will first need to grind or farm for Strike Hoard Chests. You can also help increase your light level by doing Nightfall rewards, do not rush on Tuesday and do your second Nightfall when the reset goes live. Wait afterwards (as mentioned in the video) so that you will have a higher chance of getting better stuff.
Another way of increasing your light level is by getting Exotics Engrams and decoding them after the update, this method may or may not work but has a likely hood of yielding better loot.
Other ways to increase your light level include doing Trails of Osiris, The Crucible, the Iron Banner and Heroic Raids. All of these sources will heighten your chance of getting better loot so that you can get your light level closer to 400, or exactly at 400.
