The big talk of the town this week was the axing of early review copies from Bethesda. Some people called it anti-consumer, and they would be right assuming the press were generally pro-consumer, but that isn’t really the case in today’s industry. In this case the supposed anti-consumer move also hurt the anti-consumer games press and it hurts the corrupt press more than it does gamers.
On the lighter side of the news, two games have gone gold this past week, including Watch Dogs 2 and The Last Guardian. The surprising news is that The Last Guardian could actually be arriving on store shelves after a decade of development. Most surprising was the fact that there are now facts out there showing that the Clinton campaign engaged in illegal FEC conduct, but there’s likely not going to be any punishments served and she seems to be well on her way to becoming the 45th President of the United States of America. These stories and more in this October 29th, 2016 edition of the Weekly Recap.
