Pendulo Studios announced some disappointing news for gamers looking forward to their new point-and-click adventure game, Yesterday Origins. The upcoming game was originally scheduled to launch on October 13th for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, but they’ve had to delay the game a bit due to manufacturing issues, pushing the release back to November 10th.
Declare Eliott Grassiano, Microids vice president, commented about the delay of the game, mentioning in the press release…
“We wish to offer to players all around the world the possibility to play this new masterpiece of Pendulo Studios simultaneously on all physical and digital platforms.” […] “Unfortunately, due to manufacturing processes taking longer than expected, we are not able to deliver all territories. That’s why we take the decision to postpone the launch of the game until November 10, 2016 in order to allow all players to play simultaneously.”
Interesting move.
Unfortunately this means that if you were expecting the game to drop digitally, separate from the physical release of the game, think again.
The game boasts hours worth of content, with a fully voiced cast of more than 25 different characters. Pendulo mentions in the press release that Yesterday Origins sports a fully original score, and their trademark black humor slathered across risque content and dialogue.
The developers first made a name for themselves with the Runaway series, which spans multiple platforms and multiple games. They eventually moved on to other point-and-click games within the genre, constantly evolving and modifying how they portrayed their characters and stories, eventually landing upon the sleeper hit, Yesterday. The time-traveling mystery is an 18+ title so if you’re safe-space loving millennial, this probably isn’t a title for you. Heck, showing a little bit of 3D skin just might trigger you.
Nevertheless, for anyone who likes their adventure games with a bit of adult humor and content slapped inside, you can look to get your hands on Yesterday Origins for the PS4, Xbox One or PC starting November 10th. It’s a risky date considering that it’ll be arriving after the launch of big games like Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Titanfall 2, but if you really enjoy you some point-and-click action it’ll be ripe and ready for you.
