Huff Post Contributor Warned Of Clinton Foundation Corruption In E-Mail Leaks

The hard hits just keep coming for the Clinton campaign. This time a series of news stories surrounding the corruption of the Democratic National Committee have surfaced along with more developments happening behind the scenes.

The Wikileaks e-mails from John Podesta’s account revealed that interim Democratic National Committee chairwoman, Donna Brazile, had been receiving town hall and debate questions and feeding them to Clinton in advanced so that they could shape the message during the debates.

According to CNN Money, after Brazile’s Democratic commentator role on CNN expired in July the network did not opt to renew it. Originally the renewal was postponed due to Brazile taking the chair for the DNC, but after the Wikileaks e-mails surfaced the network and Brazile parted ways for good, with Brazile resigning from her Democratic commentator role at CNN.

But that’s the least of the issues.

According to an e-mail from Huffington Post contributor and former legislative assistant to U.S., Senator Lloyd Bentsen, Brent Budowsky, the Clinton Foundation’s financial funneling was ripe for a scandal due to the people Clinton was involved with.

According to the Wikileaks dump, back on March 21st, 2015, Budowsky wrote to Clinton campaign chairman, John Podesta, saying…

“It was not uplifting to learn in recent hours that problems with foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation continue, Hillary Clinton was still making paid speeches for hire this week, and Tony Rodham is hustling gold mining deals in Haiti.

“From the minute the email story broke I have been out there publicly and unequivocally supporting Hillary Clinton in multiple ways in multiple media unlike many Democrats and unlike most in the media.”

Budowsky says that these are self-made issues and that Hillary’s brother and the money coming into the Clinton Foundation could be the ruin of her and the campaign, with Budowsky urging Podesta to at least warn Clinton about cleaning up these issues.

He states…

“If there is one thing that could well bring down a Hillary Clinton candidacy it is this cycle of money issues about which I am now feeling red alerts, loud bells, warning signals, and red flags and I am now seriously pissed off that there is a real chance that her candidacy and the Democratic Party could be destroyed by these self-created dangers that continue to proliferate the closer she gets to presumably announcing her candidacy.

“[…] it will be megaphoned throughout the media, and foreign donations and paid speeches and hustling gold mining deals by her brother are entirely legitimate issues that are self-created, and must self-corrected before it is too late….and I do not believe the Clintons fully understand the magnitude and immediacy of the danger in the current political and media climate.”

The e-mail was nearly prophetic, if only for its pedantic observations for the obvious.

The FBI were apparently thinking along the same lines as Budowsky, because according to Media Ite, the Bureau wanted to launch a full investigation into the Clinton Foundation on the grounds of corruption, and while they started preliminary investigations, they were cut short of full witness interviews, subpoenas or grand-jury activity.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the FBI was met with resistance from the Department of Justice, writing…

“[…] anticorruption prosecutors at the Justice Department told the FBI at the meeting they wouldn’t authorize more aggressive investigative techniques, such as subpoenas, formal witness interviews, or grand-jury activity.”

The FBI continued their investigation anyway, even without the support of the DOJ. However, deputy FBI director Andrew McGabe was supposedly asked by a senior Justice Department official why they were still investigating the Clinton Campaign, and later on the FBI told the Wall Street Journal off the record that McCabe later handed down the order to cease investigations into the Clinton Foundation.

When the anti-corruption sect in the highest order of government calls for the cessation of investigation into corruption into a presidential candidate, who exactly do you turn to investigate corruption? Worse yet, if the anti-corruption sect is corrupt, who stops the corruption?
