Two games from Gust will be making their way to PC starting February 7th, 2017. The games will be published by Koei Tecmo and will appear on Steam.
According to Gematsu, both Atelier Sophie and Nights of Azure will make their way from the PlayStation 4 to Steam. Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book came out back in 2015 and followed a young girl named Sophie who was working to become a great alchemist.
Unlike previous Atelier games there was more of a casual item-hunt design to Atelier Sophie, as players searched around and performed non-combat activities to acquire ingredients to create new alchemy recipes.
The second game from Gust, Nights of Azure, originally came out back in 2015 as well for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. However, the game was trashed on the Vita for being a piss-poor port from the PS3. The PS4 version of the game was the real standout given the cool anime inked outline art-style that contrasted cartoon-look with a color schemed based on oil-paintings. Gust was really trying something new with Nights of Azure as far as character art-styles were concerned.
Having the game join Steam in February will definitely give JRPG fans something to salivate over. They’re already working on a Nights of Azure 2 for the PS3 and PS4. The action-RPG featuring some unmistakably obvious yuri themes could mark a turn of events for Gust and their games making their way to PC.
If the sales look good we could see Koei Tecmo get a little more aggressive with porting over Gust’s games, including the upcoming Nights of Azure 2, which is even more yuri laden than the first game. There’s a nice anti-fan group who decry all the yuri-ness of both Nights of Azure games, but at the end of the day the sales numbers will determine who the majority is.
You can expect to get your hands on both games during the second week of February on Steam.
