How To Attend The Final Fantasy XV Moogle Chocobo Carnival

Square Enix isn’t all about being super serious with Final Fantasy XV. The story and ending may have led a lot of people to holding their head in their hands and sobbing uncontrollably, but there’s more to the story than just tears and ill feelings. Square decided to do a 180 and offer gamers something far more lively and engaging for the multi-million selling JRPG.

The Moogle Chocobo Carnival is a festival that will transform Altissia, one of the in-game cities in Final Fantasy XV, into a festive atmosphere full of celebration and mirth.

The event will get underway starting next week on January 24th. So here’s how you can attend:

  1.  – Downloaded the free Holiday DLC Pack for Xbox One or PS4 from the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store.
  2.  – Alternatively, if you have the premium Holiday DLC Pack from the Season Pass, make sure that you have it installed.
  3.  – Once installed and activated you’ll receive the Carnival Passport in your inventory from the DLC that you can use to attend the in-game event.
  4.  – Activate the passport to visit the limited time Moogle Chocobo Carnival.

It’s a pretty simple thing and so long as you managed to get your hands on the Holiday DLC Pack you’ll be able to attend the event. In addition to announcing when it’ll take place, they also released a new trailer for the event that you can view below.

It’s actually a lot more… engaging than I thought it would be. Gamers can venture around Altissia and check out all the city-wide decorations for the event, buy two new special dishes themed around Chocobos and Moogle, or even partake in two brand new mini-games involving shooting down targets or racing a Chocobo through an obstacle course through one of the many Altissian lakes.

There are special boat rides to go on, new photo opportunities and even some additional side quests to complete along the way.

They even went out of their way to give Noctis a Chocobo themed outfit… even though originally I thought it was a Pikachu outfit. I mean, let’s be honest here the whole yellow hat and shirt almost made Noctis look like he was about to whip out his Pokedex and try to catch ’em all.

Anyway, you can look to get in on the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event starting January 24th on the Xbox One and PS4.
