Mass Effect: Andromeda Trailer Showing Environments, Gameplay Arrives Jan 4th

During the CES 2017 keynote speech given by Nvidia, the company will demonstrate some of their tech while showcasing BioWare and EA’s Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Overclocked3D picked up the news after it made its way across social media thanks to a tweet by the official Mass Effect Twitter account.

As indicated, the trailer will be on display on January 4th, 2017 next week. Some gamers were excited, others were apprehensive.

The reason for the apprehension comes from the fact that Nvidia was at the heart of a few high-profile controversies in 2015 relating to GameWorks borking up Batman: Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, where AMD accused Nvidia of sabotaging the games not to work right on AMD cards. The whole GameWorks fiasco became a black mark on the otherwise notable releases of some high-profile games (minus the pure crappy PC port of Arkham Knight).

Most gamers are simply hoping that the Nvidia collaboration is nothing more than lip service and that the trailer won’t be anything more than just BioWare showcasing the game for the CES crowd and the gaming community at large.

There’s also a contingent of gamers who aren’t at all pleased with the racist rantings of a certain BioWare designer, Manveer Heir, whose racist tirades left a lot of people angry about him being backed by the BioWare higher ups for saying what he’s said. Some even tried petitioning to get him fired. Others simply said that they would not be buying Mass Effect: Andromeda.

If EA and BioWare don’t deliver a solid gameplay experience in spades for Mass Effect: Andromeda then there’s definitely going to be a lot of trouble for the franchise moving forward.
