The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Goes Gold

The Nintendo Switch launch title due for release on March 3rd has officially gone gold. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild artist and designer Yasuyuki Honne sent out a tweet explaining that the team met at a “certain” hotel in Kyoto, Japan in order to celebrate the completion of the project, for which more than 300 people have been working on the game over the course of four years.

Honne-san actually does not mention The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by name, but it’s pretty obvious what he’s referring to through the tweet that My Nintendo News picked up.

As noted by Trusted Reviews, Monolith Soft aided Nintendo in finishing up the development of Breath of the Wild, hence why Honne – a designer and artist from Monolith Soft – sent out the tweet from the hotel dining room in Koyoto.

Nintendo has been rather quiet about promoting Breath of the Wild for the Wii U, and much like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GameCube and Wii, the focus for that cross-gen title was mostly on the newly launching Wii as opposed to the aging GameCube.

In this case, Breath of the Wild has reportedly been running smoother and at higher resolutions on the Nintendo Switch, so quite naturally Nintendo has decided to focus their attention on that version of the game.

You can look to get your hands on the title for the Wii U or the Switch starting March 3rd, next month. Nintendo will be hedging their bets big time on hoping that the game delivers and is a bug-free experience in order to shift as many Switch consoles as possible throughout spring.
