In this guide for Ark Survival Evolved folks will learn how to find and tame the newly added Thylacoleo, which arrived in version 255.5. Studio Wildcard’s Ark Survival Evolved is out now for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
If you are looking to find and tame the Thylacoleo, it’s safe to say that you are in luck. A video guide by Fresonis sits below.
The Thylacoleo is a somewhat formidable or strong creature, but with its ability to climb trees makes it very powerful in terms of traversing around other creatures and moving along the terrain fast.
The creature is said to be used by small raiding groups due to its ability to move moderately fast and climb trees, ideal for ambushing others in an unfair fight. The creature’s most note worthy attribute when fighting can be found in its powerful jaws, which upon locking its jaws on smaller prey it will not let go — making it good for holding small or annoying creatures in a stationary position.
Another defensive aspect that the Thylacoleo has going for it is its claws. If it needs to escape a fight it can attack with its razor sharp claws so that it can retreat with its hind legs to safety among the trees.
Commonly found in the Redwoods Forest and Hidden Lake, you can see a table of content revealing how to tame it and feed it so that it will be yours to keep.
Something that is very important to keep in mind is that you should never approach a Thylacoleo in a tree. You should rather approach one when it is stationary with a tranquilizer arrow or dart.
Once it is on the ground you should move fast since they have high torpor for their size. it is recommend that you use a flying mount to land, fire as many shots as possible and then move positions to try and capture it. And that’s about it when it comes to trying to capture a Thylacoleo.
