Enter The Gungeon, ToeJam & Earl, Hollow Knight Coming To Nintendo Switch

Unity Technologies rolled out a list of games coming to the Nintendo Switch over the course of the next year or so – games that are running on the latest Unity 3D game engine. Two of the highlighted titles include the upcoming ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove and Enter the Gungeon.

In the press release, Unity revealed a list of games due for release or already released for the Nintendo Switch that are running on the Unity game engine. You can check them out below.

  • Snipperclips – Cut it out, together!, SFB Games
  • I Am Setsuna, Square Enix
  • Yooka Laylee, Playtonic Games
  • Overcooked, Ghost Town Games
  • GoNNer, Art in Heart
  • Hollow Knight, Team Cherry
  • Mr Shifty, Teayookm Shifty
  • Tumbleseed, Benedict Fritz
  • Project Mekuru, Over Fence
  • Super Bomberman R, Konami
  • Enter the Gungeon, Dodge Roll
  • Ittle Dew, Nicalis
  • ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove, Humanature Studios

ToeJam & Earl was Kickstarted back to life, in early February of 2015. The developers at Humanature have been working around the clock to bring the game up to par for its initial release on PC at some point later this year. From there, the game will be ported to home consoles and released on systems like the Nintendo Switch.

I Am Setsuna wasn’t quite as groundbreaking as I had hoped, but it tells a compelling enough story that a lot of gamers fell in love with it and were enraptured by the endearing tale of duty and sacrifice. It’s a nice little throwback game for the Nintendo Switch that hearkens back to the days when Square Enix was Squaresoft and they were rolling out GOTY-quality titles for Nintendo’s home console. You can pick up I Am Setsuna right now for the Nintendo Switch. Super Bomberman R is one of the other games already available as well, while some other titles such as the smash hit rogue-like dungeon crawler, Enter The Gungeon will be released soon for the Switch.

While the early launch line-up of software for the Switch is rather thin, Nintendo is hoping The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will hold gamers over until April, when Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Edition drops. Sprinkled through March and beyond, you can also look for Nindies – independent games for the Switch – to slowly roll out as well, including some Unity 3D-powered games.

The Switch is available right now, along with a few select titles on the eShop and at local retailers.
