I know it, you know it, we all know it. Zoners are obnoxious. However, for those that don’t main a zoner and are currently jammed when going against people like Deadshot, Dr. Fate and Darkseid in Injustice 2, hopefully you will find this guide helpful. NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros Interactive’s Injustice 2 is out now for Xbox One, PS4, iOS and Android devices.
So what is a zoner? A zoner is someone who plays at a distance in a fighting game, constantly keeping you out of range by repeatedly spamming projectile attacks from a safe distance.
Usually it starts off with the zoner spamming a few shots and then the zoner mixes it up to keep you back by using other spam moves. Sadly, most of your time is spent crouching when fighting a zoner or receiving mad damage by spam fire. Hopefully this guide will help you out when fighting a spammer/zoners.

Next up comes a video by YouTuber Lionel Medina who shows how to deal with a zoner in action. Medina uses Robin and is constantly on the move; in turn giving him the upper-hand by utilizing both the front and flank of his opponent when in battle. This play style means that you will need to predict a move of the zoner before it happens and to be on the move pummeling their face and back at all times.

It’s always important to remember that a zoner will always try to make space with you so that they can stay in a safe spot to keep spamming. Something to make note of when getting close is to get to their rear end since they will most likely block a front attack and keep you in the loop again. Another tactic is to rush at the start of the match, and force your opponent into a corner before they have time to zone you.
The number one thing is to practice, practice and practice against different AI characters to learn how to counter a zoner with your very own play style.
