You want to know what a dying title and desperation looks like in video game form? Battleborn. Not too long ago Gearbox and 2K Games have announced that the dying game named Battleborn currently has a free-trial going across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
You want to know something funny? Battleborn was announced and in development first, but Overwatch, which in this case would be the copycat clone, managed to bury Battleborn deep into the ground… that’s sad and funny that the clone killed the real game and still remains triumphant to this day. But, I guess that scenario wouldn’t have happened had Vandal Pitchfork poured more time into the game instead of teaching people what is and isn’t an anus over on his Twitter account.
Anyway, over on the lousy game’s website reads an informative break-down on the free trial, which an excerpt of the description on the main site reads below:
“We’re excited to announce a new and incredible way to jump into the hero-shooter, Battleborn! Starting today players can experience unlimited competitive multiplayer for FREE with the Battleborn Free Trial.”
In addition to the above information found in the blockquote, players can now pick up Battleborn as a free download for PC via Steam, PS4 and Xbox One. The free trial will grant unlimited access to all competitive multiplayer gameplay modes and maps, without any time limits or level caps. Six Heroes out of the 30 in the game will be rotated every week allowing folks to try them all, which progress with each hero and player account will be permanent… wow that sounds desperate.
Instead of me telling you more about this game crappy game, watch this sad man, Randy Varnell, desperately try to act enthused about this free trial going for Battleborn — I bet his paycheck for this developer overview was pocket-lint and stale peppermints.
The free trial is now available on Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Store. I should note that PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold are required to play the free trial. Another clause to this free trial is that folks who own a PS4 and live in Europe or Japan will not gain access to this free trial up until June 13th, 2017.
Before signing out, here’s a little fun fact about Battleborn. Did you know that Montana — the guy who has the tiny head and minigun — was first featured in the abomination known as Brothers in Arms: Furious 4? Maybe Vandal Pitchfork was trying to forewarn us that an atrocious game was to come when Furious 4 was canceled, as seen below.
Battleborn released on May 3rd, 2016, across PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and is currently running a free trial.
