GOG.com is hosting a summer sale this year, featuring more than 1,500 titles discounted across the DRM-free storefront. Additionally, gamers who make their first purchase will receive a free copy of Rebel Galaxy for their efforts.
The sale will last for two weeks and is currently going on right now at this very moment (assuming you’re reading this after June 6th and before June 20th).
Additionally, during this time, GOG is reintroducing the GOG Connect feature, so you can port over 40 select Steam titles into your GOG Galaxy account, including Dropsy, Not A Hero, The Walking Dead Season 1, Brutal Legend, Frozen Synapse, Deponia, Evoland, X2: The Threat and Shadowgrounds to name but a few. Classics like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Gratuitous Space Battles 2 are also available through the GOG Connect. You only have 13 days starting from now to cash in on the offer to port over your Steam games, so work fast!
As far as the sales are concerned… the 1,500 games discounted range from 10% off up to 80% off. This includes games like SWAT 4, Stardew Valley, Night in the Woods, Shadow Warrior 2 and Dragon’s Dogma to name but a few. Also, CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher series is obviously discounted, giving gamers an opportunity to pick up the trilogy at a discounted rate. For instance you can grab The Witcher 3: GOTY Edition for 50% off the normal price.
If you’ve been staving off diving into the game series, you can check out the DRM-free copies right now. The GOG.com front store page has a breakdown of discounts by genres. So you can scope out action games like Dead Space and Crysis, or RPGs like Pillars of Eternity and Torment: Tides of Numenera. There are even horror games like Red Barrels’ Outlast 2 marked down by 20% even though it just recently came out this spring.
If you aren’t interested in GOG.com’s Summer Sale, you can check out the GOG Connect page to see if you have any Steam games worth moving over to the GOG Galaxy.
