Call Of Duty: WW2 Zombies Features Katheryn Winnick From Vikings

Veteran actress Katheryn Winnick from the History Channel’s Vikings will make her video game debut in Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: WW2. The actress has been in tons of movies, television shows and shorts over the years, appearing in a variety of projects across normie TV, cable TV, major motion pictures and indie flicks.

If you’re a regular watcher of Vikings then you’re likely familiar with her work, otherwise you may have caught her in the film Killers, which starred has-beens Ashton Kutcher and Kathrine Heigl, or her short stint in the show about dudes getting raped in prison, Oz. She’s had a lengthy run on Bones and will also appear in the upcoming sci-fi film The Dark Tower.

The news about Winnick joining the cast of Call of Duty comes courtesy of a tweet by the official Call of Duty Twitter account, which featured a brief reminder that in a couple of days the full reveal trailer for the Zombies mode will air during the San-Diego Comic-Con.

As noted in the tweet, Winnick will play the “intrepid” Marie Fischer. As noted by Gamespot, she’ll be joining co-stars David Tennant from Doctor Who and Jessica Jones, Elodie Young from Netflix’s Daredevil.

The casting news seems to be bigger than the actual news about the game’s play mechanics and features, for which we’ve only seen very little of to date.

Sledgehammer, however, has not been shy about doing the PR rounds to talk about having black female Nazis in the multiplayer or how they want to make sure that the campaign mode still shows how diverse they are and how they want to showcase representation of various groups who fought during World War II.

Some people in the Twitter feed were quick to point out that Sledgehammer could be “pushing it” with Call of Duty: WW2.

It won’t be long before the official Zombies trailer is revealed for Call of Duty: WW2, as you’ll only have to wait until June 20th for the trailer to drop. The full game is due for release on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC on November 3rd this fall.
