Xur has appeared and is looking to trade with Guardians. If you are in search of the mysterious trader who appears every week at the Tower or Reef, then you are in luck given that this guide aims to help newcomers pick the best gear Xur has to offer. Destiny is out now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Xur has returned with his weekly exotic armor and weapon sets for you to look over and barter to gain an upper-hand either in PvE or PvP. The Agent of the Nine can be found by going to the Tower North, once passed that location you will need to go to an overlook that is right near the Speaker. The overlook should contain Xur, where you will be able to barter with said vendor.

The armor Xur has this week includes the Immolation Fists gauntlets for Titans, the Crest of Alpha Lupi chest piece for Hunters, and the Starfire Protocol chest piece for Warlocks. For newcomers, Xur has an okay set of exotic armor, which the Hunter’s Crest of Alpha Lupi chest piece is said to be something worth picking up, but I’d suggest to look it over extensively.

As for Xur’s weapon for the week stands to be the Monte Carlo. The Auto Rifle that increases melee charge and has a fast fire-rate is an okay weapon. Depending on your play style and whether or not you like how the weapon’s aesthetics look depends on if this gun is something worth picking up.

TL;DR: Look over the armor carefully if you are a newcomer, if you happen to have the Monte Carlo Auto Rifle skip it but if don’t it’s a weapon worth picking up if you are new to the game — although there are better weapons. Skip the weapon bundles and the Legacy Engram, and if you want you can pick up some Heavy Ammo Synths and Three of Coins.

Destiny is out now for PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One. Rise of Iron is only available for PS4 and Xbox One.
