Dauntless Closed Alpha Is Now Live For Founders

Phoenix Labs announced that the Monster Hunter clone, Dauntless, has entered into alpha testing in North America, Europe and the Oceania territories.

The alpha test will be used to help gauge community feedback and give Phoenix Labs the necessary direction in which to take Dauntless. Jesse Houston, co-Founder and executive producer at Phoenix Labs explains…

“The Dauntless’ community’s passion and feedback through the Tech Alpha has not only shaped Dauntless but it has become a heartbeat pushing our studio to be the best and to take on the next challenge,”

“In this next step of our journey together, we’re excited to battle alongside our fellow Slayers, continue our open dialogue, and present new adventures, challenges, and shared experiences.”

The game’s alpha test will last throughout the rest of August heading into September. Starting September 1st the game will then transition into the first ever closed beta test, where it will open up to more players.

Initially, the only way to partake in the closed alpha is to purchase the Founder Tier Pack, which will grant you instant access to the game’s alpha test.

If you forgot what the game looked like (and it’s easy to do so given how little it’s been in the news leading up to the alpha and beta tests) you can check out the trailer below to get a small refresher.

Phoenix Labs have been working a bit hard in trying to differentiate their game from Capcom’s Monster Hunter. Even still, both games share similar kinds of content and gameplay.

Aesthetically the character designs look very similar to Epic Games’ Fortnite, where-as the monsters have an acute, colorful design to them.

You can learn more about Dauntless and the alpha test by visiting the official website, or you can hang back and wait for the closed beta to get underway before diving in.
