Raid: World War II Launches October 10th On PS4, Xbox One

Starbreeze Studios, Lion Game Lion, and 505 Games announced that the official release date for Raid: World War II on PC is set for September 26th on PC, and one of the selling points for the game is that it stars British comedian John Cleese as a British intelligence officer who helps players out as they fight against Nazis.

Starbreeze also revealed that Raid: World War II will appear on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One this year as well, starting in October on the 10th in North America and October 13th in Europe. This will most certainly add to the increasing amount of titles scheduled to drop this fall. Nevertheless, the game will be available both physically and digitally for home consoles.

For those of you who need a slight refresher on what the heck Raid: World War II is, maybe this cinematic will remind you.

Yes, this game is essentially a World War II rendition of Payday 2.

Ilija Petrusic, the game director at Lion Game Lion, the whole idea is to see players joining with friends to wreck Hitler’s stuff and pulverize, vandalize and destroy all things associated with the Swastika, mentioning in the press release…

“The goal in RAID: World War II is simple – sabotage, assassinate and pulverize everything bearing a swastika – mess with Hitler and steal his treasures,”

“With the Nazi regime as the ultimate evil, RAID brings together four unique characters with playstyles that complement and enhance each other as they fight and steal across Europe.”

The game will see players venturing to real-world locations across Europe, from Berlin to Elbe, and various other places in between.

You’ll be able to unlock a variety of weapons and modifications for each weapon as well. Classes will be present, including Recon, Assault, Insurgent and Demolitions, along with some character customization to change the look for each of the four playable characters.

I don’t know how well Raid: World War II is going to do on a market where we’ve had an over-saturation of Nazi villains lately. In some way it feels like the overabundance of Nazism will make some people more sympathetic toward them as opposed to reviling them. It doesn’t help that the media has made an enemy out of millions of Americans by labeling them as Nazis for voting for Donald Trump.
