Yakuza 6 Western Release Date Set For March 20th, 2018

Sega has confirmed that the official release date for the Western release of Yakuza 6 on the PlayStation 4 is set for March 20th, 2018 next year.

The full name of the game will be Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and it will also come in a special collector’s edition for those of you out there wanting all of the goodies and specials that come along with it.

In the press release, it was confirmed that the “After Hours” premium edition will come with a hardcore art book featuring a lot of the characters and environments from the game. Two bar glasses featuring Kiryu’s signature dragon tattoo. Two ice stones. Two coasters for your glasses with a Tojo Clan brand on them, and an outer base to contain all of this stuff.

The story centers around Kiryu after he gets out of a three year prison stint. He becomes a taxi driver to make ends meet, but ends up getting dragged into a shadowy conspiracy after he finds out that his surrogate daughter, Haruka, is caught up in trouble. After she ends up in a coma after being struck by a car, Kiryu has to look after her newborn son while he investigates the events in the idyllic, and peacefully tranquil, seaside town of Onomichi.

The game runs on the new an dimproved Dragon Engine, with improved animations and graphic effects. The game world has been updated to be a lot more open compared to previous games, and all of the dialogue has been fully voiced in Japanese… all of it.

The game has already been out and available over in Japan since last year in December. Some people enjoyed the improvements over the previous games while others weren’t too fond of some of the new restrictions. Nevertheless, you can experience it for yourself come March 20th, 2018.
