Fallout 4 Creation Club Beta Glitch Changes Mod Loading Order

Entering into beta means dealing with all of the hiccups that come along with it. In the case of Bethesda’s Creation Club it means that there are glitches that disrupt the load order of mods, which can fatally wound your saved games, along with another helpful oversight that allows you to utilize the paid DLC/mods for free.

Techraptor is reporting that there are three major things happening with the Creation Club, including a glitch where some of the content won’t work with free mods currently installed. They state that this issue isn’t widely reported and only one user had an issue where a Pipboy skin would not work with other free mods installed. However, they note that there isn’t much info on this and it could be a one-off, so take that with a grain of salt.

What isn’t a one-off is the fact that your load order will change with the Creation Club contnet installed. A couple of people had issues with the load order on Xbox One, and one person noted they had an issue on the PC version where using the Creation Club content would rearrange the load order. So as noted in the thread on Reddit, they suggested manually checking before launching your game…

“Before you start your games up, make sure to go back and manually change your load orders everyone! This has to be a bug, as I can’t see why they’d force it to be ordered A-Z, but it might seriously mess up your saves if you don’t fix it yourself in the mod menu.”

It’s something to consider if you use the Creation Club. It might also be helpful to send in some feedback to Bethesda so they can address this issue, since it seems more prevalent with console gamers than PC gamers, but there’s no such thing as too much useful feedback.

Another glitch that’s popped up involves being able to access Creation Club’s paid content… for free.

TechRaptor notes that the hook for the files is automatically downloaded to your PC, along with the necessary assets to use the mods. Basically all you have to do is create an esp file to get it working in your version of the game.

Over on the Reddit thread, they offer a quick explanation on how to utilize the file explorer for the Creation Club content and add it to your game if you’re already opted into the beta.

Now if you aren’t opted into the beta you don’t have to worry about any of the Creation Club glitches. If you have opted into the beta… well, just remember, you opted into a beta for a Bethesda game.
