A bunch of old games that could likely never be properly remade in today’s politically charged climate, have actually landed on GOG.com. Sierra Interactive classics Heart of China, Rise of Dragon and Conqueror A.D. 1086 join other Sierra classics on GOG.com.
The first game, Rise of Dragon, is a cyberpunk adventure game using 85 different sci-fi settings where players will have to navigate Los Angeles in the years of 2053. The game was heavily inspired by classic sci-fi fanfare like Cyborg and Blade Runner. The 1990 title is steeped in cyberpunk thematics, a gripping story and a few cyborg strip clubs. You can grab Rise of the Dragon from over on the GOG.com store.
Heart of China is another full motion-themed game set in 1930s China, with plenty of Engrish, intrigue and shadowy organizations. Players take on the role of three characters, a pilot, a daughter of a ruthless baron, and a ninja will make their way through the throngs on the streets of Hong Kong, through the mountains of the Himalayas, and across the Orient Express.
The game is only 40MB, and features the standard point-and-click adventure, where players will have to navigate their way through the twists and turns of the conspiracy that lies at the Heart of China. You can grab the game from over on the GOG.com store page for only $5.99.
The last on the list is Conqueror A.D. 1086, which is 574MB, and carries a $5.99 price tag and is easily one of the best games I’ve ever played. It’s about conquering the land and overcoming the odds using a mix of 4x tactics and first-person melee combat. This game was so awesome (and still is) because you compete in tournaments against other knights, manage your resources, and attempt to take over other kingdoms. Heck, you even have to fight for the heart of a maiden, and even rescue some damsels in distress, which is why a game like this will never be remade in today’s politically charged climate. However, you can relive the greatness that is Conqueror A.D. 1086 by picking up a digital copy from over on the GOG.com store.
