Detective Pikachu And New Amiibo Coming West March 23rd

The Pokemon Company announced that Detective Pikachu for the Nintendo 3DS is coming to the West starting March 23rd. The game will be accompanied by a new Amiibo figurine featuring Detective Pikachu.

Nintendo Everything is reporting that the new Amiibo for Detective Pikachu will be available both in the West and in Japan for people who already own the game for the Nintendo 3DS. The title actually came out way back in 2016 but it’s only just recently getting ported to the Americas and Europe.

The most notable thing about the game is that after the trailer started trending around the web, a bunch of people petitioned Nintendo to hire Danny Devito to voice the hard-nosed gumshoe due to it being a tough-talking, gun-totting investigator. If you forgot what the trailer was like, you can check it out below.

The game is a point-and-click style mystery where Detective Pikachu and a young boy go around town solving crimes. Players have to interrogate suspects, collect evidence, and eventually solve the case.

The Amiibo for Detective Pikachu is said to unlock helpful hints for players attempting to solve a case.

This also follows on the news that Universal Pictures is working on a live-action Detective Pikachu movie starring Ryan Reynolds as the lovable yellow pocket monster. Given that Hollywood is still keen on pushing the diversity agenda, they ended up casting Justice Smith in the lead role instead of sticking with someone who looks like Tim Goodman from the Detective Pikachu game.

The movie is a long ways off from release, though, and you can expect it at some point in 2019. Don’t be surprised if they try to squeeze in a few more Liberal elements before it’s all said or done.

In the meantime, you can look forward to the Nintendo 3DS game to make its way to the West starting March 23rd.
