Nintendo Switch Neon Green, Neon Pink Joy-Cons Coming To America In January

The official Nintendo of America Twitter account revealed that the Neon Green and Neon Pink Joy-Con controllers will be arriving at retailers and e-tailers near you in North America starting late January.

The tweet went live on January 5th, 2018 just recently to inform Nintendonites that their options for expanding their Joy-Con peripheral library will expand shortly.

As mentioned in the tweet, the neon pink and neon green Joy-Cons were designed to coincide with the green and pink motif of the ever-so-popular Splatoon 2 for the Nintendo Switch, which came out last July.

The thread was ecstatic about the news, but were also curious about some of the other color combinations that appear to be exclusive to Japan, which are showcased over on the Japanese Nintendo website.

In particular, there are red and blue Joy-Cons based on Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Taiko no Tatsujin series, which is a drumming-style music-rhythm game. The specially designed controllers for the Switch are due out in 2018, and gamers were curious if the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con version of Taiko no Tatsujin would see an accompanying release in the West?

The Taiko no Tatsujin controllers basically invert the colors on the Joy-Cons, so the left Joy-Con has a red livery with blue face buttons and the right Joy-Con has a blue livery with orangish face buttons.

We’ll likely have to wait to find out if those specially designed controllers make the leap overseas, but for now you can look to purchase the neon pink and neon green Joy-Con controllers in North America from your local retailers or participating online e-tailers come late January, 2018.
