PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Surpasses 3 Million Players On Xbox One

PUBG Corporation seems to have found a winner no matter what platform it’s on, and Microsoft seems to have found a game that is actually getting people to play the Xbox One for once. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has surpassed 3 million players on Microsoft’s home console after recently launching for the system back in December.

This is the kind of software that moves hardware that Microsoft has been lacking since the launch of the system back in 2013.

The news about the player count broke over on the Xbox Newswire, where general manager of games marketing, Aaron Greenberg, explained that they aren’t slowing down with the updates for the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and that they will continue to service the ever-growing playerbase on the Xbox One.

Greenberg explained…

“The team at PUBG Corp. is determined to continue to improve the in-game experience for PUBG’s growing and active community and have already released four updates since the game’s launch in Xbox Game Preview on December 12. You’ll continue to see regular updates roll out for PUBG on Xbox One such as this week’s addition of first-person support for solo, duo, and squads gameplay and the team is just getting started, with more updates planned that include additional game optimization and the new Miramar map”

Amazingly, the PUBG Corporation is already hard at work on a third map, even though they just rolled out the second map for PC gamers.

The company is also continuing to hire, especially when it comes to excelled network engineers, who they say is in short supply outside of South Korea.

The game continues to grow hand-over-fist, and even Hollywood and Netflix have shown interest in the third-person survival game.

It’s a shame that the creative director kowtowed quickly to feminists when they complained about a non-existent camel toe in the game, but sadly this is the kind of world we live in.
