We Happy Few Official PC, PS4 And Xbox One Release Delayed To Summer

We Happy Few has been pushed back from its previous April 13th official launch day to a “summer” release. There’s no telling when it will release this summer, but it will be made available for PC via Steam, PS4 and Xbox One.

With Gearbox Publishing handling Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few, folks will see the action-adventure psychological thriller debut not on its originally intended April 13th launch, but sometime this summer.

The game was first made playable through Steam Early Access and later made it on Microsoft Game Preview program; the game is also set to hit PS4, too. It’s worth noting that the PS4 version shows a launch date of December 31st, 2018.

Anyway, the news of the delay is accompanied by the announcement of a second playable character named Sally, who is teased at the end of the latest developer update video below.

It’s worth noting that on a Steam update post, the team made mention that We Happy Few will no longer be purchasable through Steam starting at the end of January. Furthermore, previous buyers of the game will be applicable for a refund — no matter the amount of playtime spent in-game.

If you don’t know, We Happy Few sports a price tag of $50.99, which is a rather absurd price point for an early access game. This price was actually much lower before April 2017, when it sat around $29.99.

The developers, however, did acknowledge in the Steam update post that the price point is high for an early access game, which the game itself won’t receive any more updates until the full launch. In other words, if you have the game now you’ll have to wait again for it to go through another development phase to play the “complete” version.

We Happy Few has a summer release date, and will be made available for PC via Steam, PS4 and Xbox One.
