Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of Dana Arrives Overhauled Localization Arrives Jan 30th

NIS America announced that the overhauled localization that went into production back in October will see the light of day starting January 30th for PS4, PS Vita and for the first time on PC. In fact, the PC version was delayed from its original date after gamers complained about the poor localization. NIS America was quick to respond, apologizing for the mishap and promised to fix the game.

Well, the fix will arrive on January 30th alongside the release of the PC version of the game.

Additionally, during the first week of the game’s release on PC, gamers will have the option to download the DLC for Adol’s Adventure Essentials, the digital mini art book, and the digital soundtrack sampler for free up until February 6th. You can also pre-purchase Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana from the Steam store right now for $59.99.

Also, to prove that they have actually improved the localization, NIS America sent over comparison shots to honor their commitment to the community.

Additionally, NIS America is holding beta tests leading up to the final release of the PC version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana to make sure that they get the game right for the first time out on PC. They’re dedicated to proving to gamers that they aren’t scrubs, and they want to do everything they can to rectify the dishonor that they brought to the Ys community back when Ys VIII originally released last fall for PS4 and PS Vita.

If you would like to participate in the PC beta test ahead of the January 30th launch, you can do so by visiting the Google forms for the beta test.

They don’t say how long the beta test will go on for but if it helps with further ironing out the gameplay and polish for the PC port, then it can’t hurt to get in as soon as possible. You can look for the patch for the overhauled localization to roll out for PS4 and PS Vita alongside the release of the game on PC.
