Dev team The Farm 51 are the ones behind the 2017 game Get Even, and it seems that their upcoming title World War 3 has been showcased behind closed doors. Powered by the Unreal Engine 4, the game is said to mirror Escape from Tarkov and Battlefield 4, but the multiplayer PC game in question is in development as we speak and has no release date yet.
According to Polish publication site polskiegrywideo.pl it is said that World War 3 is looking quite promising by those who viewed the game at Intel Extreme Masters (IEM).
At the event, the publication site recorded Adam Berdzik (from jarock.pl) saying the following information about World War 3:
“I was absolutely charmed. Seriously. Farm 51 effectively captured my imagination, I see huge potential. Imagine Battlefield 4 connected with Escape from Tarkov, add to this geopolitical module and fights on a global scale (East vs West), with some very interesting mechanics related to vehicles and you get a really interesting product.”
The website also managed to get word from Wojciech Gruszczyk (from ppe.pl) on World War 3. Gruszczyk take on the game reads:
“I was shocked by how the team uses knowledge on cooperation with the Polish Armaments Group, they put interesting ideas into the game and have a real plan for production. It will be difficult to compete with DICE and Treyarch titles this year, but I sincerely hope this team will surprise the world with this shooter.”
According to the Polish website that recorded both Berdzik and Gruszczyk, it is said that a lot people at the event are looking forward to World War 3.
Right now, The Farm 51 are working on their first-person shooter and focusing on dynamic infantry firefights and teamwork, coupled with vehicle play:
“World War 3’s gameplay will not be limited to dynamic firefights. The key to victory will lie in teamwork and smart strategic planning.”
In an older description from The Farm 51 it covers more about the FPS title and reads:
“The game enables us to take part in virtual battles using both infantry and military vehicles. World War 3 will allow the player to choose soldiers from all over the world, including the Polish Armed Forces.”
The piece on World War 3 ends by noting that the game will go through an early access phase. This phase will be open to players for feedback and refinement so the community can help shape the game.
