God of War For PS4 Sold 3.1 Million Copies In Three Days

Sony recently announced that between April 20th and April 22nd, the 2018 reboot-sequel of Santa Monica Studio’s God of War sold 3.1 million copies for the PlayStation 4.

The news comes courtesy of a post over on the official PlayStation Blog, where SIE America vice president, Asad Qizilbash, posted up the news about the three day milestone for the third-person hack-and-slash game.

Santa Monica Studio’s general manager Shannon Studstill also shared a short note about the success of the game’s sales, writing…

“Your support is truly inspiring, and it’s a reason why we push ourselves every day to go beyond the boundaries of play. I’d also like to thank our Creative Director, Cory Barlog, and Director of Product Development, Yumi Yang and our entire amazing team at Santa Monica Studio. The belief in the game’s vision and the passion for storytelling across the team is undeniable.”

A lot of journalists who aren’t very good at video games gave God of War perfect scores, while many YouTubers paid in sponsorship money gave the game sparkling praise, and in typical fashion there were plenty of Sony fanboys who flooded the Metacritic boards with high marks, bringing the user average up to 9.2.

Other gamers less enamored with the hype campaigns, flashy marketing, and the sociopolitical commentary doled out by the vagrants of morality who leer from atop their smug-hewn perches at places like Polygon and Kotaku, have rightfully stayed away from the game they’re called the “Cuck of War” and the “God of Soy”.

Even still, there are enough people completely enraptured by all things Sony, and so no matter what the game was going to end up being a success simply because it’s a first-party title for the PlayStation 4.

God of War is currently available right now exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
