The Wolf Among Us Season 2 Delayed Into 2019

Telltale Games recently announced that The Wolf Among Us 2  for PC, PS4, and Xbox One is being delayed into 2019. The reason for the delay? Because there were cutbacks last year when new management took over and decided to cull all the poorly made cash-ins that Telltale was pumping out for a quick buck. The studio now has a more streamlined function focused on high-quality outings (or at least, that’s the goal) and that means that some games will have to get delayed due to the new restructuring.

Over on the official website the developers stated that they need the extra few months to roll out a clear and quality-made product based on the vision they have for the game, writing…

“The Wolf Among Us 2, based on Bill Willingham’s award-winning Fables comic book series from DC’s Vertigo imprint, will now launch in 2019, rather than the latter half of 2018. This delay comes as the result of a few fundamental changes here at Telltale since we first announced the game last summer.”

According to the post they want to make sure they make something “truly special”.

Late last year the new CEO gutted the company and restructured it, announcing that they would have fewer but higher quality releases. This is something that fans had been asking for from the start, especially after Telltale began picking up a handful of licenses and churning out mostly linear, forgettable adventures where the choices didn’t matter.

Supposedly the philosophy of quick cash-ins will be done away with, and hopefully they’ll adapt more of their games to how they produced Batman: The Enemy Within, which actually did make the choices matter and did make the outcomes drastically change based on the player’s decisions.

We’ll see just how well those extra months of developments will come into play when The Wolf Among Us 2 releases in early 2019.
