Not much information is out there about the upcoming Super Smash Bros., Switch game as of now. However, it looks like gamers and fans alike who aren’t up to date on the game have a new rumor to dissect thanks to Tiago Sonobe, a software engineer at Nintendo, who previously worked at Bandai Namco from April 2014 to August 2016.
Catching wind from publication site mynintendonews.com it is said that Sonobe, who is credited for “environment programming” in Super Mario Odyssey, has stirred up the rumor mill with a tweet.
The publication site notes that Sonobe has worked on the “rendering engine” that Super Smash Bros., Switch is running on. However, Sonobe left Bandai Namco Studios before the production on Super Smash Bros., Switch began.
In addition to the above, the publication site believes that Bandai Namco is working on Super Smash Bros., Switch because of the following tweets.

The publication site posted up Twitter user IceDoesntHelp tweets, which highlight that both Sonobe’s tweets and his Twitter account have disappeared; standing as information that Nintendo did not want out.
If you are an avid Super Smash Bros., Switch follower, none of this information should be anything new to you. But for those who aren’t always up on all things Smash now know what’s going on.
Lastly, we’ll find out if Bandai Namco is helping with Super Smash Bros., Switch when Nintendo starts its Invitational on June 12th, which will allow gamers to see the game in action. The event will go live right after the Splatoon 2 World Championship finals:
“The Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018 tournament, which will pit invited players against each other in the recently announced Super Smash Bros. game for Nintendo Switch. A few fans who come dressed as their favorite Nintendo character on June 12 may be chosen to play the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game on stage in exhibition play.
