Red Dead Redemption 2 On PC Rumors Kick Into High-Gear Due To LinkedIn Profile

News sites are reporting that Red Dead Redemption 2 could end up appearing on PC after a LinkedIn profile for one of Rockstar Games’ programmers was spotted with an entry that reads that they’re working on Red Dead Redemption 2 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

DSO Gaming picked up the news from another website that shared a snapshot of this specific Rockstar programmer’s LinkedIn profile, which lists previous works such as Beaterator for the iPhone, L.A. Noire for PS3, Xbox, and PC, Grand Theft Auto V for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, and Red Dead Redemption 2 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Strangely, the image they share of the LinkedIn profile has the name and photo blanked out to protect the employee from being outed for whatever reason. I suppose to avoid the person getting fired? Then again, anyone could just search up Rockstar programming leads to find the individual in question, especially since there likely won’t be too many people who worked for Rockstar Games as a lead programmer between June 2009 and October 2016.

The significance of this news is that Rockstar nor Take-Two Interactive have announced a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. So if the LinkedIn profile is to be trusted, it would mean that Rockstar has plans on releasing the game on PC at some point down the line, but obviously not with the Xbox One and PS4 release this September.

A scattered release of Rockstar Games is no surprise, though. The company did the exact same thing with Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V, the latter of which had multiple gamers double-dipping to get the more definitive PC version with 4K support, higher texture resolution, smoother unlocked frame-rates, and better all-around performance and playability. That’s not to mention mod support.

For now we’ll just have to wait until after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 for confirmation on when the PC version will release.
