Mike Lunn Briefly Talks Resident Evil 2 Narrative Changes And Enhancements

In a recent interview, Capcom’s brand manager told another publication site that visuals and altered levels aren’t the only things changed in Resident Evil 2, the narrative will be “enhanced,” too. The game in question is set to release on January 25th, 2019.

Not too long ago, publication site Gaming Bolt sat down with Capcom’s brand manager, Mike Lunn, to discuss what the company meant by offering a “deeper” narrative experience than the original game that came out in 1998.

Lunn went on to say that there will be places and people from the original game that offer much more in the 2019 edition. However, you can read the following response below:

“For example, there will be places in the original game, that you just drove by, or maybe just walked by, or people that you talk to maybe had a handful of sentences. You’re really going to have deeper experiences with those. Sometimes you can actually go on and play for an extended period. Sometimes you have a little bit deeper story with that person. They’re more involved than they were in the previous game. The narrative is definitely enhanced, but I can’t get into what those are, obviously.”

We can take from Lunn’s response that places/locations will add a bit more play time and people that you can talk to will offer more dialogue than the previous version in the upcoming 2019 game.

As for the “narrative” being “enhanced,” we’ll have to wait on exactly what has changed. As of right now, it seems like any explanation will step into spoiler territory if Lunn and crew elaborate on it further.

Resident Evil 2 will release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One early next year. Finally, you can either pre-purchase Resident Evil 2 right now or look over the game’s official website or Steam page by hitting up the given links.
