Stardew Valley latest update that dropped as of August 1st brings multiplayer support to PC. That’s right, folks who use Steam or GOG will be able to play with friends via update 1.3.
Taking to Twitter, the devs behind the Harvest Moon-like game, Stardew Valley, have released the following tweet letting gamers and fans alike know what has just dropped as of today.
Correction, that should be 11.00 EST – even earlier! 🙂

The devs also posted up details on stardewvalley.net, explaining how multiplayer functions on PC work.
Firstly, Stardew Valley now supports 4 player co-op. The co-op mechanics function similarly to single-player, but with extra players attempting to achieve a common goal.
Furthermore, any single-player game can be “changed over” to a co-op game by having Robin build one or more cabins on your farm.
As for hosting, one of the four (however many) players will serve as the host, and the other number of players will need to connect to the host in order to play. Therefore, the host must be in-game at all times when the group wants to play.
The update page also notes that a “Co-op button” has been added to the title screen. Upon clicking the button will bring you to the co-op menu, from which you can pick from the following actions:
- Host a new co-op game.
- Re-host an existing co-op game.
- Join a new farm.
- Re-join a farm.
- Join a LAN game (by entering the IP address of the host).
- Enter an invite code to join a game (allows for Steam/GOG crossplay).
Moreover, the update also brings a slew of changes that should help with gameplay mechanics and player experience. The full log of information that update 1.3 brings can be found through the above link.
Stardew Valley is out right now for PC via Steam and GOG, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PS Vita.
