EA Reveals Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Official Trailer; Game Won’t Have Microtransactions, Multiplayer

The upcoming Jedi-like game set after Order 66 has been revealed. Yes, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have showcased the official trailer for (Star Wars) Jedi: Fallen Order, which the game itself is slated to launch on November 15th, 2019, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

According to the official memo, players will be assuming the role of Cal Kestis played by Cameron Monaghan — best known as the Joker in the 2014 and present TV series Gotham. In other words, players will experience events right after the purge of Order 66 as a Padawan on the run:

“Cal Kestis—one of the last surviving members of the Jedi Order after the purge of Order 66—is now a Padawan on the run. Experience this all-new single-player Star Wars™ story from Respawn Entertainment and EA Star Wars on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this holiday.”

The devs behind Jedi: Fallen Order stresses every chance they get that the game will be single-player focused, and will have no microtransactions. This can be seen on Blair Brown, the producer at Respawn and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Twitter account:

Anyway, you can check out the official reveal trailer that sports no gameplay courtesy of EA Star Wars:

Aside from puzzle solving, traversing different platform-like places, and messing around with an “innovative” lightsaber combat system and Force abilities, players will uncover secrets about Cal on a new planet called Bracca, while hiding from the Empire in plain sight.

Cal will make new friends like Cere (the diversity check lady in the header image), as well as some familiar faces, all while being accompanied by his faithful droid BD-1.

In addition to the above, Cal’s run from the Empire is said to be more dangerous as he is being pursued by the” Second-Sister,” one of the Empire’s elite Inquisitors, who seeks to hunt Cal down. The Second-Sister is accompanied by the Purge Troopers (the guard with the lightning rod), who are special Imperial forces trained to seek out Jedi and aid the Inquisitors.

Although I don’t condone you doing this, you can pre-order the standard version of the game for $59.99 and the Deluxe edition for $69.99 over on ea.com. And lastly, Jedi: Fallen Order will likely show up at EA Play this June if the event’s past holds any indication.
