Mortal Kombat DLC Roster Potentially Leaked

Thanks to the recently datamined version of Mortal Kombat 11 for the Nintendo Switch, it looks like we may have a clearer picture of which new characters will be introduced to the game via DLC. There are nine in total and, at present, the roster is looking pretty interesting to say the least.

First, and shocking nobody at this point, this news comes to us from reddit where folks have cracked open the Mortal Kombat 11 code and started poking around. Apparently it’s much easier to manage this on the Nintendo Switch version of the game and the thread even offers details on how you can manage it yourself. Given how many people in this thread have verified the information, it seems like there’s a pretty dang-good chance this is a legitimate roster. Characters could be added or removed over time, of course, but I’m about to run down the characters currently making the cut. I suppose you should consider this a spoiler warning, if you’d rather go in blind.

You probably noticed the picture of ShangTsung at the top of this post. He’s already been confirmed by NetherRealm as the first DLC character and, yep, he’s also included on this list. Other Mortal Kombat characters include the Native American warrior, Night Wolf, the violently screaming Sindel, the four-armed half-dragon Sheeva and the man selected to replace Raiden as the protector of Earthrealm, Fujin.

As has become common practice over the years, it looks like NetherRealm is looking to bring in some third-party support, including horror/sci-fi icons and one character from their Injustice fighting series. The Injustice representative this time around is Joker, with the rest of the bizarre cast including the Terminator, Evil Dead’s mother-flippin’ Ash and (freaking finally!) Spawn.

Again, NetherRealm has only confirmed one of these characters so far, but the evidence supporting the validity of the list is overwhelming considering how many people have followed the instructions and found the names files themselves.

So, thoughts? Let’s hear em.
