A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away before Disney consumed the original Battlefront series, there was a game called Star Wars: Battlefront that released back in 2004 from Pandemic Studios that proved to be fun and ambitious on all fronts. Fast-forward to today and EA single-handedly flatlined the Battlefront series. However, you can still enjoy the classic third-person action-shooter thanks to GOG’s early May the 4th celebration.
Whether you like GOG or not, the storefront is celebrating May the 4th early, and have announced the digital release of the classic Star Wars Battlefront title for 15% off, which is accompanied by a week-long sale on classic Star Wars games.
“To celebrate May the 4th, GOG.COM is announcing the digital release of the legendary STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ (Classic, 2004), and launching a week-long sale on classic Star Wars games.”
The game in question still holds the same beloved content from 2004 that is now ready for your PC. In other words, you will still be able to take part in the Historical Campaign mode and become a fighter of the Republic and the Empire across “epic battles” for control over the Galaxy. You’ll also be able to fight for total supremacy in the Galactic Conquest mode.
Also, the same 20 characters and four factions are still intact. You’ll also be able to battle it out across land, air, and space, while attempting to take control ofd command posts and a variety of vehicles across 16 maps.
As reported above, Star Wars Battlefront’s $9.99 price tag on GOG has been cut by 15% bringing it down to $8.49. As an additive, other Star Wars games have been cut by 40% and 65% respectively as seen below:
“During GOG.COM’s Star Wars week, there are plenty of other galactic goodies: players follow the path of Darth Revan in the pinnacle of Action RPGs Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (-65%), become a Jedi in Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (-65%), or go and win some Podraces in Star Wars Episode 1: Racer (-40%).”
