Neverinth, Dark Souls-Inspired Roguelike Featuring Playable Waifus Enters Steam Early Access

Chinese game developer CreAct Games and publisher Another Indie recently released Neverinth into Early Access on Steam for $15.99. The third-person rogue-like is a hack-and-slash action-RPG designed to mimic the gameplay mechanics of FromSoftware’s popular Dark Souls series.

Neverinth is themed around Norse mythology but the designs and art-style is more like medieval-anime. The main character is a slender, blue-haired waifu-type with a curvaceous body, a cute face, and outfits that can bare enough skin so that you can see plenty of her legs and thighs depending on her outfit. There’s a second playable character with long red hair and a more muscular body build with thick thighs.

You can see what the gameplay is like with a video uploaded of the Early Access version from YouTuber Dhir De Gamer.

You’ll alternate between using the face buttons and the bumpers to execute various types of attacks and special moves. You’ll need to journey through the dangerous labyrinth filled with secrets, dangerous traps, and lots of enemies.

Mich like Dark Souls the enemy variety will keep you on your toes as you’ll need to alternate between different styles of combat to thwart your foes, some of whom will be equipped with shields to block standard attacks, or spears to keep you nimble on your feet. You’ll need to journey through the labyrinth to unlock new weapons, armor, gear, skills, and even new playable characters.

The game is also set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch, which was announced back in early February of 2019.

The trailer there made the game look more like NieR: Automata, but the actual gameplay isn’t quite as fast-paced or as anime-esque when it comes to the combat. You’ll need to strategically formulate a plan to take down your foes and battle bosses.

Neverinth is still a long ways off from release. They developers have plans on adding new environments, playable characters, and new stories for each playable protagonist.

They’re looking at spending another 12 through 18 months developing and fleshing the game out while it’s in Early Access.

If you were interested in playing the game, you can do so by picking up a digital copy right now from the Steam store for $15.99. During the first week of being on sale the game is discounted by 10% off the normal purchasing price.

If you were interested in a Dark Souls game with hot chicks, Neverinth is a game you might want to keep an eye on. It likely won’t arrive on the Nintendo Switch, though, until spring or summer of 2020.
