Square Reaffirms Final Fantasy VII Remake Isn’t Coming To Other Platforms

After a strange mess up on the Xbox marketing communications and social lead’s end regarding a Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer, Square Enix came out of the woodwork to clarify one thing, and that one thing is the upcoming remake is only in development for PS4 and no other platform.

If you have an addiction to social media and can’t get enough of video game leaks and rumors, then you’ll likely know of Nibel. The individual in question often spits out tidbits of info that is either true or false. This time it was the latter.

As seen above, the Xbox team over in Germany posted on Facebook that Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to the house of the green, but that’s not the case according to the person, Maxi Gräff, that’s over the German Xbox communication sector.

Some way, the Xbox team managed to pull a big blunder in that they listed the upcoming remake of the classic JRPG on the Xbox side of things, but I guess that’s what happens when you employ social justice peddlers over competent people:

Given that this mess up spread like a forest fire, Square Enix caught wind of the foul stench and sought to reconcile the situation by reaffirming what it had said previously, which is Final Fantasy VII Remake is a PS4 exclusive.

Website videogameschronicle.com picked up on this and asked Square Enix about the whole console or platform mixup, which is how Square caught wind of the situation and replied with the following:

“As previously announced, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for the PlayStation 4 on March 3rd 2020. We have no plans for other platforms.”

Well, there you have it. If Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to PC or other platforms, expect it to be many years out if that is even in the equation according to Square’s current stance.
