[Original article:] Anna That Star Wars Girl is a YouTuber with more than 100,000 subscribers. Her account was recently demonetized after she was clicking through to learn more about the YouTube partnership program.
On July 31st, 2019 Anna tweeted the following message, indicating that her account was somehow mysteriously demonetized.
@YTCreators @YouTube PLEASE HELP! I was trying to learn more about the partners program and I clicked on something to learn more a pop up appeared telling me I was no longer part pf the program and my whole channel is now demonietized!? Please help me fix this ASAP!

After spending some time tracking down a support member in the YouTube Creators chat, Anna was promptly told that they couldn’t help her reinstate her account to partnership status.
Well @YTCreators after trying to reinstate my partnership/monitization I was told very rudely by the person “assisting me” in the chat window that they couldn’t help me. There’s got to be a way to fix this since I was a partner an hour ago.

After a few more tweets the Twitter account for Team YouTube popped into the thread and suggested that she re-apply for her account.
Yes I was looking for more info on the partner program and accidently clicked on the wrong button and now my channel has been demonetized. There was not a single safeguard that alerted me to this or asking if I would like to go back. Just that my channel had been removed.

It sounds like a simple mistake, but sometimes it’s not quite as simple as that. For instance, in the case of Sargon of Akkad, he was removed from the YouTube partnership program and his entire channel was demonetized. This took place during his campaign as a UKIP candidate during the elections.
If YouTube decides not to reinstate her AdSense account, it’s likely because someone there took offense to some of the content she’s made, even though it’s milquetoast compared to a lot of other content out there. Recently she did take Marvel to task for the whole FemThor business, but I would like to think that wouldn’t be enough to warrant demonetization of an account, but knowing YouTube… who knows?
Given that YouTube did offer her some advice for getting her channel back, we’ll see if it works when she re-applies for the partnership program.
