Hasan Piker Temporarily Suspended From Twitch For 9/11 Comments

Hasan Piker, a contributor to The Young Turks and a streamer, made disparaging comments about 9/11. He was promptly suspended from Twitch.tv for a week.

The suspension comes after Piker made a Twitch stream responding to Dan Crenshaw’s appearance on the Joe Rogan show.

YouTuber Secular Talk captured the short clip from the livestream that Piker made, where he made the comments about 9/11 and Dan Crenshaw.

If you’re unable to view the video or it’s made unavailable to you, the segment that Secular Talk included in the clip has Piker saying the following…

“America deserved 9/11, dude. Fuck it. I’m saying it. […]

“Like we totally brought it on ourselves, dude. Holy shit. We did.

“In a video game. Hypothetically. Politically. We fucking did, man.

“We did.

“Holy shit.

“Holy fucking shit.

“Look at the way this dipshit is running his fucking mouth. Justifying genocide right now. How is anything I’m saying controversial?

“Like, we fucking fund the people who did 9/11… still to this day! Donald Trump literally went on national television and said ‘They buy $10 billion worth of weapons so they chop, chop, chop at American permanent residence, so it’s okay’.”

This resulted in Piker getting criticized and lambasted for his anti-American sentiments across social media, including American veterans taking Piker to task for it on August 25th, 2019.

According to Styxhexenhammer666, Crenshaw and Piker allegedly got into a Twitter scuffle over the comments, and Piker was temporarily suspended from Twitch.tv for his comments.

If you attempt to visit Hasan Piker’s Twitch channel, at the moment it’s inaccessible. You’ll be met with a screen telling you that the content is currently unavailable.

Given that the suspension will expire in a week, it’s not quite as bad as it could have been.

However, this does go to show that the issue of censorship is ever-increasing. In fact, nothing Piker said was anymore extreme than what you would find in a common chat room circa 2001.

This idea that people are no longer allowed to share opinions that hurt the feelings of others is quite ridiculous.

Of course, this doesn’t detract from the fact that Hasan Piker has horrible opinions that frequently put him in the spotlight for being either misinformed or trapped in the hamster wheel of ideological subservience, even at the expense of common sense. A perfect example of that is Piker taking aim at Liana Kerzner and berating her for not liking Jax’s woke ending in Mortal Kombat 11.

The only difference in this case is that his opinion not only netted him the ire of his betters, but it also resulted in him being temporarily suspended from Twitch. So this goes to show that if you push too much in a direction not accommodated by the big tech censors that control the platform, even those on the Left will feel the thick rod of censorship penetrating the weathered rectum of freedom.
