If you don’t mind settling for the Epic Games Store version of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, then you can grab the timed exclusive on December 10th. However, the Steam version is due out next year around late 2020 and will likely arrive with much-needed patches. In the meantime, the title by Piranha Games has a new trailer out walking viewers through combat scenarios and mech customization.
The gist behind the following video is taking up missions, making money, and upgrading your Mech(s) to dominate any battlefield. The video also reveals a bit of the hangar, the mission select room, the world map or space chart, and destructible environments.
Moreover, the video that has its comment section turned off to divert any criticism due to the devs anti-consumer stance is up for your viewing pleasure:
In case you are out of the loop and wish to know why the above video has a fair amount of dislikes, back in late July of this year, the devs behind this mech game took to mw5mercs.com to explain:
“Why is MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries an Epic Games store exclusive?
Partnering with Epic gave us the ability to delay our release to early December so that we could make the quality of game we desired as well as the financial footing to make sure MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries could be properly localized with a significant marketing effort.
We also feel very strongly about discoverability and believe that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries has a greater chance of market success on the Epic Games Store.”
Well, now you know why Russ Bullock and Piranha Games opted for the timed exclusivity deal. Money and “exposure” were the prime talking points.
Moreover, if Red Dead Redemption 2′s release on the Epic Games Store is any indication, then I think it’s safe to say that MechWarriors 5: Mercenaries will have performance issues and will likely need a slew of patches to straighten it out.
If, for some reason, you are looking to play MechWarriors 5: Mercenaries, do know that it is slated to drop on December 10th, 2019, for PC via the Epic Games Store. The Steam version is set to go live sometime next year and for offline or singler player user, you can check our game update for using cheats that provide you one hit kills on our site.
