It looks like Saber Interactive is cooking up something special for Switch goers in that multiple working titles are in the pipeline as we speak. No word on the genre of these new games has surfaced, but I’m sure that’s nothing time can fix.
Before going any further, for those of you thinking, “Who and what is Saber Interactive?” Well, the dev team founded in 2001 has worked on games such as TimeShift, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, and World War Z — to name a few.
In addition to Saber Interactive’s portfolio, the team recently ported The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition to the Switch as well as with Call of Cthulhu and Vampyr. Now that you are up to speed with all things Saber Interactive, it looks like the team is hard at work on a couple of Switch games.
Thanks to nintendolife.com, we learn straight from Saber Interactive’s Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, that the developer is creating new games for the Switch that happen to be secret projects:
“I can’t announce anything right now, but we love the Switch platform, and we are creating some new games that will be on the Switch. I’m not going to announce them right now.”
Obviously, we’ll find out what’s up the dev team’s sleeve sometime in 2020.
In the meantime, I should note that the team is currently in talks with TripWire to help Killing Floor 2’s development in 2020. Despite hiccups with The Witcher 3′s port to the Switch, the team is dedicated to churn out new titles and clean up anything in the foreseeable future.
Whether these new games are messy ports or clean sequels, or for that matter new IPs, something is brewing over at the near 20-year-old dev team’s place come 2020 or 2021.
